Brazil: INPI Joins TMClass Platform

On January 19, 2016, the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) joined TMclass, the international technical cooperation platform for trademarks administered by the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM).

TMclass is a free and open tool that helps both users and trademark examiners in the search, classification and translation of goods and services. The information is available through the classification databases of the 58 TMclass participant offices.

TMclass helps to search for and classify goods and services (terms) needed to apply for trademark protection. The system also offers translation of a list of goods and services and verifies if those terms appear in the classification databases of the participating offices.
